Hair Transplant
Hair Transplantation
Hair loss can be caused by many different factors, including:
- Genetics
- Environmental factors
- Improper use of hair care products
- Stress
Early intervention is the best course of action for hair loss. This will help to prevent the natural appearance from being too damaged and will allow the person to look different in the mirror.
FUE hair transplantation is a procedure that is performed to achieve a natural appearance by transplanting hair follicles into the recipient area in a way that is compatible with the recipient’s head shape and facial features. Men who suffer from hair loss often look older and more depressed as a result, and this can lead to a decrease in their self-esteem. FUE hair transplantation can help to increase a person’s self-confidence and make them feel younger and more attractive.
Advantages of FUE Hair Transplantation
- Comfortable and relaxed process
- Quick recovery
- Natural appearance
- Permanent results
- No stitches or scars
The FUE Hair Transplantation Procedure
FUE hair transplantation is a three-step process:
- The hair follicles are collected from the donor area.
- Channels are opened in the recipient area.
- The hair follicles are transplanted into the recipient area.
Conclusion
FUE hair transplantation is a safe and effective procedure that can help to restore hair loss and improve a person’s appearance. If you are considering hair transplantation, be sure to do your research and choose a qualified surgeon.
What is FUE?
In the last 20 years, there have been major developments in the field of hair transplantation. The most important of these is FUE hair transplantation, which has made hair transplantation rapidly popular all over the world and has made it a more preferred option.
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), which was introduced into the literature in 2002 and started to be applied in 2005, is the new generation hair transplantation method that is most widely applied in the world.
It is based on the collection of hair follicles from the nape area one by one without creating a surgical incision. It is a hair transplantation that is incisionless, sutureless and scarless. Natural and scarless hair transplantation has been preferred all over the world for the treatment of hair loss.
The FUE method is performed with the help of a medical device called a micromotor or punch. For this reason, the FUE method is also known as “Micromotor FUE”. In addition to micromotor, hair follicles can be taken one by one without surgery with 0.7-0.9 mm punches.
Today, many hair transplantation methods (pen, robotic, DHI, micromotor, etc.) with different names are based on the FUE Hair Transplantation method as the basic application principle.
There is no scar in FUE, and the roots do not die due to lack of oxygen because they do not wait for hours. The person’s physiological hair loss may continue, their natural hair may fall out, and the transplanted hair will not fall out in any way. FUE hair transplantation results are permanent.
With FUE hair transplantation, different parts of the body can also be used as donor areas in hair transplantation. Hair follicles in the chest, back, genital or armpit areas can also be evaluated in transplantation.
The FUE method takes an average of 6-8 hours. 3000-4000 hair follicles are obtained with a micro motor in a single session. If necessary, the second transplantation can be done in the same area at least 6 months later. 2 sessions can be done for those with a wide open area in the scalp, and the nape area heals without scarring.
In FUE method, it is possible to transplant single hairs from any part of the body to the recipient area if there is not enough hair in the donor area.

What are the factors that determine the quality of hair transplantation?
In the FUE method, the quality is determined by the insertion of small single grafts in the front, sticking to the natural angles and turns, and opening the channels at a narrow width suitable for the grafts. The most important line is the line where the hairline meets the forehead.
The temples, which give a masculine look, should not be taken too far forward, and the moving forehead area should be clearly defined for the sharpness of the front line, and the planting should be started from single grafts by preserving the natural directions. Each stage has its own subtleties.
After FUE;
Hair, beard and eyebrow transplantations should not be touched at all for the first three days after the transfer. Because it is the most critical period for the grafts to hold. From the 4th day, the hair can be washed carefully after applying a softening solution and waiting.
The transplanted hair may fall out in the first month because the anagen hair that is transplanted in hair transplantation passes to the telogen phase in the recipient area and falls out; 3-4 months later, anagen is activated and starts to grow again.
In the FUE method, new hair continues to grow even after 1.5 years.
The transplanted hair can be washed, cut and dyed like other hair after transplantation.
After strenuous exercise, the blood flow to the scalp will increase, so strenuous exercise should be avoided for about 3 weeks to prevent bleeding in the areas where hair transplantation is performed.
By creating very small holes around the hair follicles, depending on the thickness and structure of the hair, the single removal of hair follicles allows the donor area to heal quickly.
What are the advantages of FUE?
- In FUE, healthy and strong hair follicles are selected one by one from the nape of the neck.
- Recovery is faster with the FUE method.
- Body hair follicles from different areas can be used for transplantation with the FUE method.
- The risk of damage to the surrounding hair follicles is extremely low in the FUE hair transplantation method.
- FUE technique can be applied together with DHI (pen technique).
Things to consider in FUE;
Before
- Do not consume blood thinners, cigarettes and alcohol before the procedure.
- You should come to the application day with breakfast, and you should prefer a shirt that can be opened from the front or a t-shirt that can be easily removed from the head.
After
- The medications given by the doctor should be used regularly.
- They should not move their heads back and forth too much for a few days.
- They should prefer a slightly high and orthopedic pillow so that their heads stay above.
- They should not use any products other than the hair care products recommended by the doctor.
- Hair washing should be done from the third day onwards.
- The hat and beret used should be soft, and irritating clothes should not be worn.
- No hand contact should be made to the head area.
- They should not do sports for a few days.
What is the difference between FUE and FUT?
In the FUT method, a 2-4 cm wide incision is made in the nape of the neck and the skin with the hair follicles is surgically removed from there as a strip. The hair follicles on the strip are then removed and transplanted to the implantation area. FUT is a method that is no longer commonly used as it creates tension in the nape of the neck and leaves an ugly scar in the nape of the neck.
Beard and mustache transplantation
Beard and Mustache Transplantation in Men
Beard and mustache transplantation in men is the process of transplanting hair follicles to areas of the face where hair does not grow. The hair follicles to be transplanted for beard and mustache replacement are taken from the back of the head, as in hair loss treatment. 0.6 mm punches are used to take single hair follicles from the upper part of the nape of the neck with the FUE method, and they are transplanted to the areas where the mustache is missing.
The transplanted hair follicles retain their previous characteristics in the mustache area and the hair follicles continue to grow. These hairs can be easily shortened and shaped during shaving.
If the hair follicles are planted too close to each other, they cannot be nourished. Therefore, the planting density is carefully adjusted, and the ideal width of the follicular spaces is adjusted to nourish the transplanted hair follicles. After the hair follicles are planted and the hair starts to grow, the hair follicles can be transplanted to the same areas again to increase the density of the beard and mustache hairs in 6-8 months if desired.
Problems such as burns, hair loss, scars, surgery scars … in the mustache area can be easily solved with mustache transplantation.
In cases where there is no mustache growth, as in baldness, only mustache transplantation can be achieved not only a good appearance but also a great self-confidence.
Only the FUE method should be applied in mustache transplantation. Hair follicles taken with 0.6-0.7 mm punches should be transplanted simultaneously. In this way, the planting time is shortened, the roots do not wait, and there is no death of the hair follicles.
If there is a regional or complete deficiency in the beard, which should grow with puberty, beard transplantation can be performed. To fill the gaps or thinning in the mustache and beard, beard transplantation can be performed by removing the unwanted beard roots in the cheeks, on the cheekbones or on the lower part of the neck above the beard line.
The most correct thing is to plant more densely in areas such as the mustache and chin that are visible from the front, and more sparsely in areas such as the favori and beard areas on the cheeks that are visible from the profile.
After hair, beard and eyebrow transplantation, the area where the transplant is done appears dark red due to bleeding. On the 3rd or 4th day, the clots are cleaned with the first washing, and the transplanted eyebrows, mustaches and beards become visible.
The amount of blood sent to the planting area by the body increases for the nutrition of the hair follicles implanted on the face. As a result of this increase, small red spots similar to acne form at the tips of the implanted hair follicles. This red appearance disappears in 10-15 days.
The first shave should preferably be done 10 days after the hair, beard and eyebrow transplantation, for the hair follicles to be implanted in the implanted area. The transplanted hairs may experience a temporary shedding in the first month. These hairs will come out again in 4-8 months. New hairs continue to grow for up to 1.5 years.
Eyebrow transplant
Eyebrow transplantation is one of the most preferred methods of women who have lost their eyebrows. Since women constantly remove their eyebrows with depilation methods such as tweezers, thread, waxing, sir… the hair roots of the eyebrows disappear over time. By being plucked and plucked, the eyebrows lose their thickness and vitality in their youth and become weaker.
With eyebrow transplantation, it is possible to reach the old volume and thickness of the eyebrows. Eyebrows can also be lost due to accidents, burns… In these people, eyebrow transplantation gives successful results. The factors that determine the result of eyebrow transplantation are: single graft removal, appropriate angle of transplantation and post-application care.
How is eyebrow transplantation performed?
First of all, the hair is shortened in an area of 10-20 cm in order to obtain the required number of hair follicles. Hair follicles are taken one by one from this area. Mini channels are opened in the area to be transplanted, in the same direction as the hairs on the eyebrow, in such a way that there is absolutely no trace. Hair follicles taken from the scalp are planted in these channels. The thickness or thinness of the eyebrow to be transplanted should be suitable for the person’s previous eyebrow and hair structure.
Eyebrow transplantation operation is performed with the logic of FUE hair transplantation. The procedure, which is performed under local anesthesia, takes 3-4 hours. In eyebrow transplantation, the roots taken from the nape area are placed in the needed area at a certain angle and in a certain direction.
Hair follicles come out of the skin at an angle of 45 degrees. The eyebrows emerge from the skin at an angle of approximately 10-15 degrees. They first stand upwards, parallel to the ground as they come to the middle, and slightly downwards on the outer part of the eyebrow.
Care must be taken when opening channels in eyebrow transplantation. When the eyebrow is planted incorrectly, it can grow in the opposite direction or downward. For this reason, eyebrow transplantation is definitely a procedure that should be performed by a specialist doctor.
What are the points to be considered after the treatment?
It is possible to see very small, pinhead-sized crusts in the planting area for a week. However, since these crusts shed rapidly, they do not prevent the patient from returning to his daily life and work. It is recommended that the person who has had eyebrow transplantation not enter the sea or pool for two weeks, not be exposed to intense sunlight, not enter the solarium, and avoid intense sports.
When do eyebrows grow after eyebrow transplantation?
It starts to grow after 3-4 months after planting. At the end of a period of approximately 7-8 months, the eyebrows take their final shape.
After the eyebrows are planted, they start to fall out after 15 days, just like the hair. The shedding process continues for 3-4 months. After the 4th month, it is not possible to lose the newly planted eyebrows.
Since the root is taken from the hair on the nape during eyebrow transplantation, they grow as fast as hair. For this reason, the ends should be trimmed once or twice a week.
Trimming eyebrows by trimming them has to be a lifelong habit that slows down. In this way, the natural appearance will be preserved.
